Alice Project Charitable Projects and upcoming events
The charitable projects of Alice Project are developed mainly in India and Italy . Alice Project is involved in several social works and activities for the welfare of Indian children and their education. Alice Project is also concerned about all the children of the world, who are suffering for a non adequate education.

Girls Fund
In India, every minute a boy dies. The mortality of females is almost three times higher than that of males.
The rate of voluntary abortions is 90 percent for female against 10 per cent for boys. The Times reports that the 2001 census showed 927 girls for every 1,000 boys under age 6; the ratio was 962 girls per 1,000 boys 20 years earlier. Where are the missing girls? They have been killed before birth, thanks to the new medical techniques (ultrasounds machines) that are able to discover the sex of the fetus.
Alice Project fund for girls is aimed to provide free education and health care to the girls in the rural areas and help them not only to become literate but, also, to become economically independent. We have already started several vocational training courses for girls and women of the villages, in Sarnath and Bodhgaya.

We have been encouraged to start this project by Sylvia Wetzeler, a Buddhist teacher, from Germany , five years ago. Your help could be precious to save a human life of a small girl

Street Theater Project

Also this project was started thanks to the encouragement of Sylvia Wetzler, who offered the first contribution for the fund.

Fifteen males evening class students and 12 female of the literacy project in Sarnath school are involved in spreading moral values among the people of the villages, through dance, dramas and songs. It is a very successful project, which got the appreciation of the local press and Indian authorities.
Help this group of female and males artists to survive. If we have financial support, we could train a new group of artists in Bodhgaya.

Animal Liberation Project

The Animal Liberation Project started few years ago, thanks to the inspiration and encouragement of Gose Lama, the president of our Society. Lama is an “expert” on offering freedom and new life to animal that were to be killed.

Since we live near the Gange, the holy river for Hindu and Buddhist, we chose to free fish, after purchasing them from the local market. We use to buy the fish, without prior information that we have intention to buy it.
Then, Lama bless the boxes with hundredth and hundredth scared fish, offering mantras, prayers, incense, holy pills, blessed rice. After this, the fish is carried, by boat, in the center of the river and gently throw into the water, while the Old lama continues his prayers from the shore.

Then, we dedicate the merits to people who requested prayers from us for long life and to our sponsors. When we have enough money, we add to the fish the liberation of goats or cows.

Alice Project education fund for Chakmas
This Education Fund supports Chakma's children education. The chakmas are refugee from Bangladesh .

They had to leave their homeland for religious persecutions. They are Buddhist among a very aggressive majority of Muslim.

Now Alice Project supports 13 chakma students, providing them free boarding school, medicine, clothes, books, uniforms, traveling expenses…
We are trying to help them to get Indian citizenship, too. We are planning to help more chakmas students, included girls.

Vocational training center project fund

Similar to what happened a few decades ago in Europe , a serious crisis is affecting thousands of Indian private workers in the textile sector. With the advent of new machines, small clothing factories went into a grave crisis. The silk sector (sarees, brocade) has been badly affected. In the villages surrounding the school in Sarnath almost all the artisans had to close their workshops since they are no longer competitive and they cannot oppose the challenge of electric machines and big industry. Many young boys and adults are jobless and without hope for the future.
Alice Project decided to start a new project to help the artisans (parents and brothers of our students) of the villages. We have opened a first unit made up of two workshops where some of the students from our school are working (ex child laborers) under the guidance of senior artisans
We chose to produce brocade, since there is not so much competition in the market and we left the sarees to the industries. We wanted to set a practical example of what production diversification can be. Then, the second step will be the registration of a cooperative in reply to the powerful attack of the rich industrial businessmen of Varanasi who control the silk and carpet market. A single artisan has no hope. A group of artisans can succeed if they are united.
The third step is finding an independent market to sell our products, avoiding the blackmailing and harassment of the greedy shopkeepers of the cities. We urgently need to build new workshops and factories and take on new expert artisans for our own productions. How can people help us? Funding the construction of a workshop or purchasing our beautiful brocade, totally hand-made.

3-year Teacher training course project fund
Jan Pether, an Australian volunteer and old friend of our school, is organizing the fund-raising for a unique project: a University diploma for counseling and education.

Alice Project's aim is to form a new generation of Indian teachers to receive training in psychology, pedagogy, didactics and philosophy (new scientific paradigm based on a holistic vision of reality). The training course will be organized by our University ( Sanpuranand University ) and will last three years.
It will be a residential course, where teachers and students will live, study, and meditate together, according to Universal Education-Alice Project philosophy and methodology. We are planning to accept the admission of 20 students (boys and girls selected from our schools). The cost of this ambitious project is quite high, but the benefits contribution, will be beyond the imagination. If you would like to offer your please contact our school in Sarnath or Bodhgaya.

Books project Fund
Almost fifteen books on Alice Project philosophy and methodology have been already printed in different languages (Italian, English, Spanish).

We provide these books to our students, as texts books. The number of the books is limited to the number of our students.
It would be extremely beneficial to print a higher number of copies for the students of other schools and other countries. Now we started a new project: the translation of all the books into Tibetan and Hindi for Tibetan and hindu children and their parents and teachers. Help this new project that will benefit the young generations of Tibetan and Indian children.

Fund for victims of snake's bite and Health Project

Two senior students received training in order to offer first aid to the victims of snake's bite. As you know, time is precious in the case of snake's bite. Many times the victims of snake's bite die on the road to the hospital. Providing a treatment of emergency is essential in order to save the life.

In our school in Bodhgaya we offer free treatment against scorpions' bite and first aid for snakes bite. Help to purchase medicine and ant poison injections!
The health project is aimed to help our poor students who cannot afford to pay the high cost of medicine and hospital. This project includes researches on ayurvedic medicine in the villages, in order to discover old method of curing common and uncommon diseases. In this context, we discovered a natural medicine that cures a very common disease, in India : jaundice. In one day, we succeed to completely cure the people affected by this disease. Our medicine is free, against the average cost of almost one thousand rupees for a treatment offered by doctors. We have successfully cured more then 500 patients!

Sport Fund
Alice Project is devoted to preserving the culture of the place where we are working. In India many old traditions are already lost as a result of the influence of the Western media and culture. As we are doing in the case of Ayurvedic medicine and traditional religions, we are also trying to preserve popular games and sports. So, besides training our students in western sports, like volley ball, basketball, football, we are also sponsoring a team to practice a very old game: kabaddi and lathi.
The athletes are well qualified at local and national level. With more financial support, we will build the appropriate infrastructure and playground where students can practice all types of sports. Now we have to borrow space from other schools to allow our students to play and practice.
